Can You Hear Our Mother’s Calling?

For those thinking about adding to the 7 billion in rotation i’d like you to consider the following; If the world population was to consume at the rate of the U.S we’d require more than 6 planets to sustain ourselves today. Our global rate of consumption multiplied by our population increase does not take into account the fact that we live on a finite planet with more than 3 billion people living on less than $2.50 a day.

I believe children are sacred, each and every last one of them, I merely ask that we ask ourselves if the creation of more children is where our mother Earth calls for our attention to be? What do you hear when you listen to our mothers call?

I hear her wailing in pain with deep cuts that are bleeding profusely. I can see, hear and feel that she has wounds that need tending to. Do you think at this moment she calls upon humanity to produce more families to provide for or does she call on those currently able to provide a new story of sustainable living to form?

If you’ve grown up in a family you’ve probably seen how having children can change life priorities. You might have seen how it so often transfers the majority of our intelligence and resources into the activity of ‘giving our children the best future possible’. I am honoured to say, they have given us the best future possible and we live in the platinum age of global opportunity for change so my question for discussion is, If they have given us the best future possible, what are we going to do with it?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this subject, it is written from a place of love for discussion and respectful debate.

  1. An incredibly interesting and challenging time, where in order to be most loving to our planet, we are called to resist our most basic fundamental human instinct. Is it our turn to be mother to the great mother? Is there a Grand Organising Design of which overpopulation is a small part in the process of something larger? Or is that a cop out to fall back on our instincts? I have more questions than answers here and this is a worthy conversation!
