Sorry for saying sorry

How many times do you say sorry in a day? For what situations do you use the word sorry? Are you really sorry or is it just an excuse? Does that excuse only make you feel better about yourself for the moment of time required to feel free from responsibility?

What if we replaced the word sorry with I intended to do that? I’m sorry I was late turns into it was my intention to be late. If you’re going around telling your friends it was your intention to be late it’s likely you will start being more responsible with your time and actions pretty quickly. Being honest with ourselves and the others around us instead of using the ‘get out of jail free card’ can actually help us become better people.

What do you think?
